2015 LOGAN COUNTY FAIR LINCOLN DAILY NEWS.com August 2-9, 2015 page 3
2015 Logan County Fair
It’s big, it’s busy, it’s top in the nation for all kinds
of competitions, exhibits and entertainment. It’s
the largest gathering of local friends and families.
It is side-by-side, individual and group work for
participants and workers. And, it is the most fun
week of the year.
What is it? It’s the 79th Annual Logan County
Fair.
Some just barely walking, but able to peddle a
child-sized tractor for the Kiddie Tractor Pull, to
a wide range of school-aged 4-H competitors, to
teens who participate through the Future Farmers
of America, youth begin what often becomes a
life-time of competition and memories at the Logan
County Fair.
Last year we featured stories of the 100 year
Anniversary of 4-H that was observed during fair
week. This year as a special feature we’re bringing
you a glimpse of what each of the Logan County
FFA chapters have been and will be doing.
Collective wisdom says “Youth are our future.”
Agriculture is Logan County’s economic base. The
success of youth in agriculture is Logan County’s
future, and our youth are doing great things.
New to the fair’s musical entertainment this year
was the Army Band of the 144th National Guard.
The Guard’s performance on the opening day of
Harness Races on Sunday was talked about in the
barns all week. And for Saturday’s grandstand
entertainment, local businesses once again pulled
together to bring top country music performance
artists to the local stage. The much loved band
Brushville will be the opening act for leading artist
Dustin Lynch.
For Lincoln Daily News the challenge each year is
how to bring you the most and best of the fair. We
want for you to keep up with what is happening
and to document the awards and recognitions for
remembrance.
We hope everyone who can, will make a trip out
to enjoy this great event that is of such value to
our community, its culture, and our continued
agricultural success.
