The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such. . Dear Rev. Parmenter, Thank you for taking the time to read my revised essay and for complimenting me on my suggestions for additional research. I am encouraged that you see a need for it and will do it. As I have said publicly to you and others, I sincerely hope that you and your colleagues will discover evidence that is more convincing (primary source material) than that which you are presently basing your claim on. Again, as I have said, I would love to see another historical marker in my beloved hometown. When a Christian leader says I should be ashamed, I take it very seriously, as I do the insinuation that I am biased. Thus, I need a little time to consider the charges and respond.
