Page 176 2023 LOGAN COUNTY FAIR LINCOLN DAILY NEWS JULY / AUGUST 2022 2023 LOGAN COUNTY FAIR Saturday, August 05 By Matt Boutcher The Springfield Area Home Builders Association (SAHBA) hosted a Lego building contest at the Logan County Fair. The event kicked off at 3 p.m. on the Lincoln Stage. Lee-Ann Burgener, Executive Officer of the SAHBA, hosted this contest in which kids were tasked with building houses with a set of Legos provided by the Association. The kids had thirty minutes to build the best house they could. The kids were broken into three age groups, these being ages 5-8, 9-12, and 13-17. Logan County Fair hosts first ever local Lego Contest Burgener shared that this was the first year SAHBA has hosted an event like this at the Logan County Fair, but you wouldn’t have been able to guess that by the number of kids participating. In total, forty-two kids participated, and several had to be put on a waiting list for a spot. When the timer started, all the kids quickly got to work building their houses. Little time was wasted as the kids creatively used the Lego pieces provided to build what they saw in their heads. No two houses looked alike, and some really stood out. Continued --
