Tuesday morning at 9, the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce staff and
community ambassadors and members of the fair board joined Miss Logan County Fair
2012 Dani Juilfs in an official ribbon-cut kicking off the 77th annual Logan County Fair.
The fair schedule this year is packed full of activities for young and old alike. Evening
grandstand events include the pageant on Tuesday with selection of the fair queen and Little
Miss Logan County Fair, the 4-H scrambles on Wednesday, tractor pulls on Thursday, and
garden tractor pulls on Friday, followed by a talent show and then a performance by the local
band Haircut Actual. Saturday’s concert features Craig Morgan and special guests Brushfire.
Sunday night is the demolition derby.
Grandstand daytime events are free and include harness racing on Tuesday, Thursday and
Saturday at 1 p.m. and mud bogs on Sunday at 10 a.m.
Other entertainment and activities for the public are scheduled around the grounds during
the week as well. Throughout the week there will be numerous livestock shows, including
shows for 4-H, junior and open competition. The Don Smith Band will be on the Lincoln
Stage Wednesday evening. Kids Day will be on Thursday in the Special Events barn. Senior
Day will be in that same location on Friday. Saturday there will be an old favorite, the Chili
Cook-Off, and a new favorite, the “My Favorite Pie” Contest. Sunday will wrap up with the
Cake Classic and Cake Classic auction as well as the annual 4-H auction.
Tinsley’s Amusements is returning once again this year to offer some top-quality rides and
games.
