Memories of that first
snowfall of the season

E
very year, usually in the first week
of December, there will come a
day that always manages to catch
me by surprise. I will inevitably wake
up one morning and shuffle to the
thermostat, where I will raise an
eyebrow as I have to turn up the heat.
Great; I’m already annoyed at this
time of year because I have to turn
the furnace on.
