When the Relay for Life live events were suspended and did not come back after Covid-19, Hargis contacted the ACS and asked if the Friends and Family Team could move forward with fundraisers Relay for Life events that included selling the luminaria. The answer was yes. Hargis contacted Bill Post and Tonita Reifsteck and asked them to participate in that important activity. They were happy to do so. As the last five years have passed, the fundraising efforts have grown tremendously. The team was stunned when earlier this year, we received an award from the American Cancer Society as the top fundraising group in Illinois in 2021. While the award was a great feel-good moment for us, we humbly and sincerely give it to the people of Logan County. While we may hold the award, it belongs to all of you. Thank you all for supporting the American Cancer Society through the Pink Pumpkin Fundraiser Auction. Thank you to all those who host the Pink Challenges for ACS. Thank you to all those who provide donations for the auctions, raffles, and more. And thank you to all those who participate in Paint the Paper Pink.
