Pursuant to 35 ILCS 200/10-115, the farmland
assessments for the 2019 assessment year
will increase by 10% of the preceding year's
median cropped soil productivity index as
certified by the Illinois Department of
Revenue with data provided by the farmland
assessment technology advisory board
resulting in a $29.10 per acre increase for
each soil productivity index.
This is the quadrennial assessment year for
Logan County. All properties are required to
be published and are listed below by
Township. The list contains the parcel
number, the assessed value, & the taxpayers
name.
Property in this county, other than farmland
and coal, is to be assessed at a 33.33%
median level of assessment, based on the
fair cash value of the property. You may
check the accuracy of your assessment by
dividing your assessment by the median level
of assessment. The resulting value should
equal the estimated fair cash value of your
property. If the value is greater than the
estimated fair cash value of your property,
you may be over-assessed. If the value is
less than the fair cash value of your
property, you may be under-assessed.
If you believe that the full fair market
value of your property is incorrect or you
believe it is not uniform with other
comparable properties in the same
neighborhood, you will want to first contact
the Supervisor of Assessments to review your
property assessment at: 122 N MCLEAN ST.
LINCOLN, IL. Open from 830am - 430pm or call
(217)732-9635 Information is also available
online at www.logancountyil.gov on the
assessors page.
If after review by the assessor’s office you
still feel that your assessment is incorrect
you may appeal your assessment to the Logan
County Board of Review beginning October
15th, 2019. The Board of Review will be in
session by appointment, at the Supervisor of
Assessments office at 122 N. Mclean St.
Lincoln, Il. Copies of the Board of Review
rules and regulations are available in the
Supervisor of Assessments office or from the
county assessor’s website.
Final date to file complaints for all
townships will be November 15th, 2019 at
4:30 p.m. After this date, the Board of
Review is prohibited by law from accepting
assessment complaints.
Your property tax bill will be calculated as
follows:
equalized assessed value – exemptions =
taxable assessment
taxable assessment x current tax rate =
total tax bill
Owner/Occupied properties may be eligible
for various homestead exemptions as provided
for in sections 15-165 through section
15-175, and section 15-180 of the property
tax code. You may contact the Supervisor of
Assessment’s for more information.
(217)732-9635 or view information at
www.logancountyil.gov assessors page.
All equalized assessed valuations are
subject to further equalization and revision
by the Logan County Board of Review as well
as equalization by the Illinois Department
of Revenue.
