2010 OFFICIAL PUBLICATION

Official publication of the assessment roll for the townships of Lake Fork, Laenna, Aetna,
Oran, Atlanta, Mt. Pulaski, Chester, East Lincoln, Eminence, Elkhart, Broadwell, West Lincoln, Orvil, Hurlbut, Corwin, Sheridan, and Prairie Creek in the County of Logan, State of Illinois.

This publication is made in accordance with Chapter 120, Section 103 of The Revenue Act (35 ILCS 205/103).

The assessed values shown are subject to revision by the Board of Review on complaint, as provided in Chapter 120, Section 108 of the Revenue Act (35 ILCS 205/108). They are also subject to equalization by the Board of Review as provided in Chapter 120 Section 146 of the Revenue Act (35 ILCS 205/146). The three year average level of assessment for Logan County is . .3372

Local equalization by township was also performed this year on non-farm, farm homesite and farm home property. Equalization factors were determined according to the State of Illinois sales ratio study for Logan County. Applying factors by township is more equitable, as each area is treated according to their sales and assessments. The taxpayer has the opportunity to contest their assessment through the Board of Review if they feel their new assessment is too high with the equalization factor. Publication of these new values DO NOT appear in this assessment publication list if equalization was the only change in assessment, as per Chapter 120, Section 103 (35 ILCS 20/103) of the Revenue Act.

The townships of Lake Fork, Laenna, Aetna, Mt. Pulaski, Chester, Elkhart, Broadwell, Corwin, Hurlbut, Sheridan and Prairie Creek have a level of assessment of 34.35, resulting in a factor to be applied of .9703. The townships of Oran and Atlanta have a level of assessment of 33.87, resulting in a factor to be added of .9840. East Lincoln has a level of assessment of 33.88, resulting in a factor to be applied of .9843. West Lincoln, Orvil, and Eminence townships have a level of assessment of 32.77, resulting in a factor to be applied of 1.0170. These factors to be added to the assessed valuation will produce a ratio of 33.33% of the fair cash values equivalent to 100%.

Public Act 84-1275 limits the annual per acre change in certified EAV for each Productivity Index (PI) to 10%. The Farmland Assessment Technical Advisory Board has adjusted the certified values for PIs 82 thru 130 by 10% for assessment year 2010. Therefore ALL FARMLAND PI’s in Logan County have increased by 10% for assessment year 2010. These changes ARE NOT included in this publication.

Taxpayers who consider their property incorrectly assessed may file a complaint with the Board of Review, no later than March 15TH, 2011. Complaint forms are available in the office of the Supervisor of Assessments, located at 122 N. McLean Street in Lincoln, IL.
