All Day Beef & Vegetables

1-1/2 lbs. beef roast
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cloves garlic
1/2 envelope onion soup mix
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3 carrots (or mini carrots), diced
2 ribs celery, diced
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 yellow onion, chopped
1/2 cup water
1 cup tomato juice
Cut beef into serving sized portions: brown beef slightly in
skillet with some oil. Place the vegetables into bottom of slow
cooker. Add beef; sprinkle with black pepper, minced garlic and
onion soup mix. in a small bowl, mix Worcestershire sauce, water
and tomato juice. Pour this over the meat. Turn to low, cover
and cook for 7-9 hours. When ready to serve, ladle meat and
vegetables out of pot with a slotted spoon. Thicken juice in a
saucepan with some flour to make a gravy. Serve hot.
