oversees a program for the Logan
County Health Department that
encourages and
supports new
mothers. She
reported that it is
now known that
practicing only
breast feeding
in the first two
weeks of a
baby’s life has
substantial health
benefits. Letterly
can help mothers
adjust to feeding,
mixed schedules
and alternating
with formula’s.
She encourages qualifying mothers to
sign up for Women, Infant and Children.
WIC offers many benefits to new
mothers, some cost saving including a
free breast pump.

readings.
