Greenslate and Estill also announced that this would be their last year serving as superintendents of Department O. In an interview, the pair shared that, while they enjoyed doing this over the last eight years, they felt it was time to move on to something new. They shared that for whomever serves as superintendents next, they should know that not everything with culinary judging is black and white. The judges this year both returned from last year. Rose Harrold and Jamie Jones served as the judges. Jones immediately got started tasting and judging the baked good entries. These entries ranged from simple chocolate chip cookies and brownies to decorated cakes and all manner of pies. While Jones judged the baked goods, Harrold got started on judging the canned goods. She took her time, inspecting each can thoroughly and using a flashlight to get a clearer view of each’s contents. McCuan would write down the names of the top four winners in each category, if there were four, and Estill would read them off to the crowd.
