2026 Fall Farm Outlook Lincoln Daily News Oct 2026 Page 33 - Support Rural Connectivity: Starlink brings reliable internet access to previously underserved communities and enables rural farmers to adopt cutting edge technological advances. Weather forecasting using high speed internet means advanced knowledge of weather patterns and allows optimized planting, fertilizing, and harvesting schedules. Farmers will also have access to telehealth for them and their livestock so there is no longer any need to drive hours for healthcare or ignore the health of the family or the herd. The world continues to grow and change, making efficient agriculture more important than ever. Starlink makes the most of the farmers’ time, money, and resources through access to the best of what reliable internet connectivity has to offer. How Much Does Starlink Cost Residential plans start as low as $75 for 100 Mbps, $110 for 200 Mbps, and $150 for Max Mbps. Roaming plans are for campers, motorhomes, and those working on the go. Those plans are $85 for 100 GB and $210 for Unlimited. Residential features include plug and play set up, unlimited data, 30-day trial, and weather resistant equipment. Starlink is self-installed and comes with everything you need in one box to get started. It is meant to plug it in, point it at the sky, and connect. Starlink is a satellite internet provider delivering high-speed, low-latency broadband internet to millions of users around the world. The standard dish kit runs approximately $350 and the mini kit runs $199. Business plans start at $250 monthly and can be upgraded to high-performance dish hardware at $1,999. Major Equipment Partnerships John Deere was the first to make the move to Starlink, creating the JDLink Boost series of equipment. The partnership connects farm equipment directly to the John Deere Operations Center for real-time data sharing, remote troubleshooting, and support right from the cab or from your office miles away. CNH and Starlink have teamed up to provide high speed satellite internet in the new Case IH, New Holland, and Steyr farm machines. Starlink will integrate with CNH’s FieldOps digital platform to send and receive data from anywhere anytime. CNH has also developed the FieldXplorer platform that uses AI to transfer drone images into a map that shows you what is a weed and what is a crop. With the use of Starlink data is immediately available enabling prescription spraying. Stara, a Brazilian agriculture manufacturer, has also jumped on the Starlink bandwagon as of summer, 2025. Stara markets selfpropelled vehicles with Starlink kits and will begin shipping sometime in 2026. Stara’s partnership will improve its Telemetra, Conecta, and Syncro software utilizing high speed satellite internet to optimize its telemetry, remote access and assistance, and synchronization of multiple machines working in the same field. The future is here and the approach is straightforward. As AI and self-propelled farming equipment becomes the standard, reliable internet connectivity stops being a convenience and becomes necessary. Starlink is making itself the very basis of that movement and the equipment manufacturers are adjusting themselves around it and in conjunction with it. Satellite connectivity is dependable, but it too can still be affected by inclement weather. Traditional internet often sees a total shut down with inclement
