Page 60 CLASS OF 2024 LINCOLN DAILY NEWS.COM MAY / JUNE 2024 LINCOLN, IL (May 8, 2023) –Three LCHS Seniors have been selected as scholarship recipients of the Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Trust. They are Clayten Manley, Alison Turner and Jenna Bowman. Mr. Arthur Larson established a scholarship trust in 1994 as a permanent memorial for his wife, Lucille Flick Larson. Mrs. Larson taught school for 38 years. She was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, and she attended Lincoln College, Normal Teachers’ College, and the University of Michigan. Throughout her career she dedicated herself to excellence in education and provided a caring haven for her students. Heartland Bank and Trust Company is the trustee of the Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Trust. Awardees receive at least $1,250 per semester for up to eight semesters of their undergraduate career if they maintain a “B” average and continue studies toward a teaching degree. Only graduating seniors of Lincoln Community High School are eligible for selection. Three LCHS Seniors Selected as Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Awardees Clayten D. Manley is the son of the late Dena Manley. He is attending the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana to major in English with a focus on teaching at the high school level.
