The six breed categories were Angus, Hereford, Shorthorn, AOB/Crossbred, Simmental, and British Breed. A first-place winner was chosen in each of the weight classes, with a champion and reserve champion being chosen in each breed class. After several minutes of intense judging, Dupuis would take the microphone and talk about what he liked about each animal before choosing a winner.
