Diane McShane’s seventh place peach pear pie was purchased by Nick Bay for $125. Rebekah Johnson’s sixth place Dutch apple pie was purchased by Dave Conrady for $150. Carlene Carter’s fifth place nectarine pie was purchased by Kelly Tucker for $60. Carter’s fourth place pecan pie was purchased by Larry Stanfield for $300. The third place honey almond pie was another pie Darlene Crider baked and was purchased by Kevin and Nancy Courtwright for $90. The second place cherry pie, a third pie Carlene Carter baked, was purchased by “Nibs” for $375. The top pie also brought in the top amount for the day. Judy Smith’s first place apple pie netted $2000 and was purchased by Court Conn, Pat Lee and Wayne Hanner. The money raised by the pie auction helps maintain the Logan County Fairgrounds. Not only do these generous bidders help keep the fairgrounds looking nice, but they also get to enjoy some delicious pies. It is a win-win situation for all.
