Lots of children and their sheep participated in the PeeWee Showmanship contest for ages 1 thru 4 and 5 thru 7. Participants included Emmett Wibben, Emery Ganey, Leighton Thorton, A.J. Miller, Caleb Walker, Charli Cherry, Kadence Sheley, Arjen Gould, Konnor Peters, EmmaLou Mumm, Ruby Boerma, Gracie Hyde, Owen Wibben, Makenna Garey, Hank Garey, Coltyn Conrady, Waylon Carls, Jack Sullivan, Cora Presswood, and Emma Boerma. Kadence Sheley was awarded winner in the 1-4 age division and Hank Garey won in the 5-7 age division. Each were awarded $250 courtesy of the Chasing Purple Project and its sponsors. Following the PeeWee Showmanship was the Logan County Fair Sheep Costume Contest, an annual event that always draws a big crowd and lots of laughs. This year’s winners were Ryder, Brantley, and Coltyn Conrady of Elkhart with their sheep “Dancing Queen”. The boys were wearing 70’s attire while making 70’s dance moves while walking their sheep who wore a “Dancing Queen” robe. They were definitely a “hit”!
