My coaches, Kari Froebe and Cory Farmer, started coaching me in second grade and stayed with me through grade school and middle school. Coach Farmer has been with us since we were in second grade and has helped me grow to be the athlete I am today. I’ve always looked up to the older girls on the team since elementary school and I couldn’t ask for better role models on and off the court. Having basketball in my life keeps me surrounded by positive influences, keeps me focused on doing well in school, and keeps me in shape. I’ve learned a lot from Coach Rohrer and I look forward to playing basketball throughout the next few years with her as my coach.” Ceana Adams “My parents are Josh and Melissa Adams. I have a brother, Connor Adams, who graduated from LCHS three years ago. I have a sister, Gracie, who is 12 years old and goes to CEL. I went to CEL. I have been playing basketball since I was in third grade and my coach was Brock Werner. I have played basketball over the summer for the past three years with Heart of Illinois. My aunt, Jenny Story, went to state her junior year and I would like to do the same all four years.” Mesa McCloud “My parents are Cory and Chynna Farmer and Chris Norton. My siblings include Falyn, Finley, Addie, Bennett and Emerson. I have been playing basketball since kindergarten. My dad, Cory, has been coaching me since third grade. He played basketball for the Railers and UIS (University of Springfield). I love playing because of my love for the game and all the friendships I’ve made because of it. I admire Kari Froebe, Brad Schneider, Cory Farmer, and Taylor Rohrer. Balancing school and basketball isn’t easy, but as our coaches always tell us: student before athlete. I feel so lucky to be a part of the LCHS Lady Railers. I have had so much fun this season!” ***** It appears to be obvious that these young women have good heads on their shoulders.
