My friends are my teammates, so it is easy to spend time with them. When it comes to school, I just have to put time aside after practices or on the bus rides to games, to study and get all my homework done. But it is easy because my teachers are very considerate and caring of me and my sports.” Makinley Knapp “My parents are Danelle Clutter and Jeremy Knapp. I have a younger sister, Jaklyn Knapp. My oldest sister is Kiersten Rivera and my older brother is Zack Knapp. I started playing basketball when I was seven years old. That is when I fell in love with the sport that I love today. My mom and my dad are my biggest supporters. If they don’t make it to a game they watch it live and send me videos of them watching it. In the future I want to continue to play basketball. I balance it by getting my work done during school or as much as possible then what I don’t get done when I get home I sit down and do my homework. I think this year we will make it so far and we have potential to be the best. I went to Lincoln Junior High School and my coach was Deb Rodgers. She always tried to keep a positive mindset even if we were down by 30 points.” FRESHMEN Mia Clark “My parents are the late Clint Clark and Sarah (McLaughlin) Ramlow and I have three siblings: Colton, Alexis, and Hunter Clark. My grandparents are Don and Caryn McLaughlin, Neil and Cynthia Clark and Jan Pickett. My mom was a part of the 1999 Lady Railers 4th place State team. I have a huge support system in my family. I would love to get a scholarship and play at the collegiate level, wherever that may be. I started off playing basketball at the YMCA when I was about four years old, and I’ve had a passion for the sport ever since. In my junior high years I played basketball at West Lincoln Broadwell. Cory Farmer and Kari Froebe were my coaches all throughout junior high and I’ve learned everything I know from them. Now I am at Lincoln Community High School where I am so lucky to have Coach Rohrer as my coach and to be a part of this awesome team and to have a special bond with all of my teammates. I watch these sophomores and juniors every day and always try to learn from them. They are brilliant role models. I can’t wait for the next few years of high school with these awesome coaches and teammates!” Lily Holmes “My parents are Corey and Dana Holmes. I started playing basketball in the third grade at WLB. Playing basketball has given me friendships that last forever and a great hard- working mentality. It also encourages my siblings (Paisley and Charlie Holmes) to put hard work into the sport and become the best they can be. Balancing schoolwork and sports isn’t easy, but I always remember student first and athlete second. I’m very proud to be a Lady Railer!” Grace Schneider “My parents are Brad and Kim Schneider. I also have two younger sisters, Ella and Ivy, Continued --
