Excellence In Education Lincoln Daily News January 25, 2023 Page 29 At Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln, teachers and students have been busy this year creating a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Lab for preschool through eighth grade students, training teachers about STEM via professional development through the Regional Office of Education and creating STEM activities that will accentuate the curriculum for students. Donations of money and materials to help develop the lab have been received from the Lincoln Woman’s Club and the Lutheran Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln implements STEM Lab “hands on” education By Principal Mrs. Ann Chandler Women’s Missionary League. Zion Lutheran is also receiving grant money for the project. In August, the teachers attended an all-day training session on STEM. During that time, they were presented with a problem and worked as a team by following the same process to solve problems as they would teach their students in the classroom. On a more recent professional development day, teachers designed an activity for students using many of the donated materials. Students Continued --
