Excellence In Education Lincoln Daily News January 25, 2023 Page 21 By Ashley Phillips District #27 Elementary Schools in Lincoln and the Lincoln YMCA have a long-standing relationship in the community. District #27 has been fortunate enough to receive a grant for after-school and summer camp collaboration with the Lincoln YMCA for the 2022-2023 school year. The grant allows District #27 to provide financial assistance scholarships for low to moderate-income families to participate in the YMCA program. D istrict #27 C ollaborates with L ocal YMCA Scholarships can be granted to students that have academic needs in reading and math. In addition to scholarships, the grant allows for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities, individualized tutoring. Help with homework by certified teachers is also available with the grant. Continued --
