2022 Education Magazine LINCOLN DAILY NEWS February / March 2022 Page 35 Advisory at Mount Pulaski High School T his school year, Mount Pulaski High School has implemented an Advisory period during the middle of the school day. Students are assigned to a faculty member in grade level groups of eight to 11 students and meet daily for 12 minutes right after lunch. During these Continued p meetings, students engage in discussions on a variety of topics while building stronger relationships with their peers and their teacher. Advisory operates on a daily theme. Monday is referred to as “Message Monday.” Examples of Monday activities include writing letters to veterans, writing affirmations to other students and staff members, and creating public service announcements for the school building.
