The Lincoln Public Library director, Richard Sumrall,
is excited about the annual used book sale at the
library. This event during the Lincoln Art & Balloon
Festival is a popular stop for people who want to
replenish their book collections.
“This year’s sale is special,” Sumrall said. “We don’t
have the quantity of books that are usually available,
but the quality of the used books is excellent.”
The tables in the Pegram Room in the basement of
the library are lined with the best quality hardcover,
paperbacks and children’s books that have ever been
available. Many of the books have been culled from the
library’s own collection.
Sumrall expects the quality of the offerings will bring
out a large crowd.
There is also a large choice of magazines, DVDs and
CDs.
Sumrall mentioned that the used book sale could not
have been possible without the help of the volunteers
who took a large pile of donated books and made a
wonderful display in the Pegram Room. He especially
mentioned Nancy Saul, George and Inez Mitchell,
Paula Smith, Caroline Kiest, Matt Graham, and Susan
Barry for their many hours of volunteer work.
The library’s used book sale runs from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m. Saturday. If there are any books left, the sale will
continue on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
