Gravy
SUBMITTED by Granny, Logan County
“Might sound pretty basic, but there are new cooks that might need these instructions.”

4 tablespoons meat drippings (can use some butter)
4 tablespoons flour
2 cup of broth, milk, meat juices or water
seasonings

In skillet or saucepan, heat drippings over medium-low heat. Sprinkle with flour. Mix the four with the drippings by gently stirring (with whisk) for about 1 minute. Continue to stir with whisk while you gradually add the liquid. Soon the gravy will begin to thicken. Add seasons to taste

NOTES: If the gravy is too thick slowly whisk in more liquid until you're reached the desired thickness. If the gravy is not thick enough in a separate container blend equal amounts of flour and cold water together and slowly add to gravy until desired thickness. If the gravy is too lumpy whisk gravy until it is smooth.
