Aunt Lou’s Apple Bread

“This traditional recipe has been passed down through several generations in my mother's family.'"
½ cup margarine, softened
¾ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup milk
1 cup apples, peeled and chopped
1/3 cup nuts (optional)
In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients until well blended. Pour into greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Bake in 350º oven for about an hour or until tooth pick inserted comes out clean.
