Home For The Holidays” November 21, 2012 A Lincoln Daily News Magazine Copyright 2012
T
he crops are in, the leaves have
fallen, and there’s a noticeable chill
in the air. Before we begin our long
winter’s nap, three spiritual holidays bring
us home to spend special time with friends,
neighbors and family.
These holidays are more than just days
off work. They give us opportunity to take
pause and celebrate our lives together,
remember where we come from and where
we’ve been together, and make some new
memories.
The first holiday is
Thanksgiving
,
a time
when we reflect on all that we are thankful
for in our lives.
The second holiday is
Christmas
,
a festive
time when we share generously and reflect
on the great gift from God, the babe in the
manger.
The last of the three holidays is the
celebration of the
New Year
,
a time to
forgive and renew relationships.
And so we begin this festive season,
coming Home for the Holidays.
