Page 34 2023 Animal Stories Lincoln Daily News February 22. 2023 In 2022, Lincoln Daily News took a break from the annual Animal Stories online Magazine but decided to bring it back this year along with the Animal Stories Pet Contest. The magazine is coming back strong with more than 170 photos of your beloved fur babies entered in five categories of the pet contest and several entries in our special tribute section for those pets who have passed and await our arrival at the foot of the Rainbow Bridge. The pet contest was divided into categories including Cutest/Most Cuddly, Caught in the Act, Dress Your Pet, Best Expression, and Non-traditional Pet. When the deadline for sending in photos had passed, LDN put together a panel of judges who had not seen the photos ahead of time, and had no idea who the pet parents were. The judging was a two step process in each category with the top four being selected then those four were ranked by the judges as to which one would be the best of the best and win the $50 gift card from Farm and Home Supply in Lincoln. The winner of each category was contacted and on Wednesday, February 15th all met at Farm and Home to collect their prize and share a few thoughts about their pets. The winners, most all with their pet present posed for pictures with Farm and Home Store Manager Rick Wilson and Lincoln Daily News’ Karen Hargis.
