2022 Hometown HEROES Magazine LINCOLN DAILY NEWS May / June 2022 Page 51 From Kyleigh Miller: Hi! My hero is Jerry Neisler. He is a sixth through eighth grade teacher at New Holland Middletown Elementary. Mr. Neisler was my hero when I had him. He lost his daughter recently (Abby Neisler) and stayed strong through out the whole process. He has really left a mark on his past and present students! He deserves recognition for all of his hard work and braveness! Thank you! ********** From Theresa Rogers Adkisson: My Dad, My Hero My hero is my Dad, William Rogers. He has been a resident of Lincoln for over 50 years. His wife, Yvonne, passed in 2018. My Dad, at the young age of 83, lives alone now and has been legally blind for close to 20 years. He never complains. He never gives up. And he still holds our family together. Even with his vision issues, he manages to make calls to check on family and friends in the hospital or healing at home. I had surgery last year (I live in Florida) and he was the one to call me, noticed from my responses that I was not okay, and contacted my daughter in the area to help me. He remembers all the kids, the grandkids, and great grandkids on birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and Christmas. He cooks and cleans and does the laundry. He is just the strongest man I know and is, and always will be, my hero. nominations from readers Hometown Hero Jerry Neisler
