elcome to the Fair!
The Logan County Fair: the community comes together
T
he Logan County Fair ironically is occurring at the same time as the
international summer Olympics this year, and they both share some
amazing attributes.
The Olympics is about the world coming together every four years to
present outstanding accomplishments in the area of athletics. People
come from around the world to participate and to spectate, and the result
is that we are closer together. Peace is more likely to happen when we
see our commonality and community in friendly competition.
The Logan County Fair is about the central Illinois community
coming together every year in the areas of agriculture, technology, art,
horticulture, athletics and entertainment to see advances in each of these
fields. We perform and we spectate, and the result here also is that
the community comes together closer. We are no longer the disparate
communities of Lincoln, Atlanta, Beason, Elkhart and Mt. Pulaski. We are
Logan County!
A new carnival, new music entertainment, a new crop of Queen and
Junior Miss candidates and much, much more are in store for you when
you come out and visit the fair.
A special word of thanks to all those who labor so long and hard to
make the fair happen every year. To those who do the planning, make
the arrangements, all the manual labor and especially the judging, please
understand our appreciation and accept our special thanks. A special
word of thanks to Mike Maske for his tireless efforts to make the Logan
County Fair the best in Illinois.
So, please take time out from your Olympic spectating and come visit
this year’s Logan County Fair. When we come together, amazing things
happen.
