The Logan County Fair

Harness racing is an age-old tradition at the Logan County Fair. In the early days it was a social affair where
families dressed in their best came to their boxes on a daily basis and watched with great interest as the races
progressed throughout the afternoon.
Today the setting is a bit more casual, but the interest in the competition is no less intense.
Horses and their owners were from as far as Mississippi and as close as Springfield.
The horse rigged and warming up belongs to Tim Altman of Springfield. Tim has been struggling to recover
from injuries in a head-on auto crash. His horse brought him great pleasure, and it was hoped he would be
inspired by seeing a picture of his horse running.
