T
his home located on two lots and was built by J. W. Seyer in 1912.
Bob and Robin bought the house in 1994 and immediately began the
painstaking renovation project that has taken 17 years to complete.
It has been their goal to decorate the home in the original period.
As you approach the home, you will notice the wrap around veranda, scene
of many family gatherings and celebrations. The home has the original wood
trim and hardwood floors.
On the first floor, there is a living room, dining room, library and kitchen.
Over the years there
have been some
structural changes.
The back entry was
once the kitchen.
The beautiful wood
cabinets are original
to the kitchen.
The bath was later
added and the
kitchen was moved
to where the dining
room once was.
Originally there
were two parlors. Please note the window treatments that Robin has made.
Four bedrooms are on the second floor with a huge bathroom. The attic area
was converted to a dream master suite, complete with sitting area and walk-in
closets.
Inside the home there were a total of 7 Christmas trees each one seemingly
more beautiful than the last. In addition a magnificent arrangement over the
dining room fire place mantel caught the attention of every visitor.
The house which boasts very tall ceilings are a perfect setting for Bob whose
height exceeds 6 feet. Each room in the home was beautifully decorated in
keeping with the original Victorian styling of the home. There was also a bit of
whimsy as we caught a shot of Santa in the bath, and got a chance to visit with
the big guy himself and Mrs. Claus in the third floor master.
